NaNoWriMo '13 - Day 9

image
I am completely back on track again! Yay! Today, I had a little bit of a struggle getting into the groove. But then I went to my room, where there was silence in place of talking, and I wrote at least a thousand of today’s words in about half of the time. I like learning of where I work best.
Story-wise, I am very clearly skimming some parts. I need to flesh out some interaction. I need to clarify why Paige is not only growing comfortable with Dan, but why she is growing to like him as much as she is now. Also: All of this romance stuff is coming up way sooner than planned. But Paige decided that she likes Dan, and Dan decided that he liked Paige pretty much from before they spoke. This is absolutely one of those moments when the characters are taking over and I cannot stop their actions.
Usually I just give the last sentence, but tonight I’m giving you just a wee bit more as well:
“You know,” said Dan, “I’m really glad Adrian brought you here.”
I turned to face him, and realized that he was a lot closer than I had planned. He leaned ever so slightly closer, and instantly his shoulder touched mine. I was frozen where I sat, save for my heart that pounded a little more loudly again.
“Me too,” I said. Why did I sound so calm? How was I doing that?
Don’t forget to add me as a writing buddy! And feel free to talk to me on there! :)
How is your novel coming along? Need any help or feedback or encouragement?
